Floreal was born in Iquique, Chile, on October 6, 1950. Even as a child he started to manifest affection for drawing. When he was nine years old he started studing drawing and painting with the artist Maria Luiza Rodrigues Soto, but the relationsship teacher and pupil lasted for a little time.

He continued painting on his own and, like a gypsy, he was always traveling. His experiences led him to a high interest in the human figure, something enhanced with the strong social feeling of the artist.

Most of his works are centered in the question of urban marginality. Characters that we usually ignore get shape in his paintings in an slight way. They are vagabonds, beggars and children wich by some reason made the streets their homes, all of them for a reason or other make the streets their homes and walking free in his paintings.

The dramatic content opposes with the colours used by the artist. The lightness of colours and the harmony of the lines, shows inside beauty of the characters excluded by our society.

Although this social thematic repeats in his oil paintings, the artist dedicates to other subjects of "pastel" too, where beautiul women were immortalized by him in several works.
